Zorells Jewelry is a long-time jewelry store that opened in August 2005.
One of Bismarck’s oldest structures located on the corner of 9th and Sweet was torn down in April of 2005 to make way for Zorells Jewelry. The original building was owned in the late 1870’s to early 1900’s by Charles Kupitz who started the areas first stage coach line from that original building. The stage coach ran from Bismarck to Deadwood SD. Later, that building was home to Ken’s flower shop as well as various other businesses. Tim Ell, owner of Zorells jewelry attempted to donate the structure to Buckstop junction, but upon inspection it was determined that the building was unable to be moved due to its deteriorated condition. Buckshot Hoffner and some volunteers came to the site and removed the original brick chimney, brick by brick. Those original chimney bricks from Bismarck’s original stage coach operation were donated to Buckstop junction and sold to raise funds for the operation.
Zorells Jewelry has operated out of the new building that was erected on this site since 2005. The building underwent major expansion in 2019 and now is just under 7,000 square feet. Zorells Jewelry was named one of America’s coolest jewelry stores by a national jewelers publication, InStore Magazine, in 2021.
