Gamble-Skogmo was a Minnesota-based conglomerate retail operation that owned and operated numerous retail brands, including Tempo, Red Owl, Toy World, and the namesake Gambles hardware, farm, and auto supply stores.
Both Bismarck and Mandan formerly had Red Owl and Gambles stores, while Tempo was an original anchor at Northbrook Mall (along with Red Owl).
Berlin Gamble – co-founder of the firm – was a North Dakota native from Arthur.
