McSports Dome

McSports Dome was a sports-themed McDonald’s restaurant located 2631 State Street. The building was replaced with the current McDonald’s in 2008.

A McDonald’s first opened at that location in 1985. It was Bismarck’s third. After completing remodeling and expansion of the existing McDonald’s, McSports debuted on October 29, 1993. It featured ten mounted televisions and a sprawling indoor children’s playground area. The dome itself was twenty feet high and forty feet wide and boasted a four-level tunnel maze with slides and two ball pits. An adjacent area contained sports-themed table games.

It was the second themed McDonald’s for owner Mort Bank, after the “McRock Cafe” on Main Avenue. He will later open a NASCAR-themed McDonald’s near the Centennial Road interchange in 2003.
