An early morning fire broke out on the second floor of Patterson Place, the senior housing units located within the historic Patterson Hotel, causing an estimated $23,000 in damage. The majority of the damage came from the sprinkler system rather than the fire itself. The popular Peacock Alley Bar & Grill does not appear to have been affected by the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Built in 1910, the Patterson Hotel (originally called McKenzie Hotel) was once known as the most luxurious hotel between Minneapolis and Seattle. The hotel closed in the mid-1970s, and the building underwent major renovation in the early 1980s.
