Fundamental Furniture<\/p><\/div>\n

A new furniture store opened its doors in Bismarck last week. Locally owned Fundamental Furniture\u00a0has opened in the former\u00a0Nutri-sport space at 412 East Bowen<\/a>, in the strip mall directly across from the Civic Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of Fundamental Furniture’s signature products are the North Dakota-produced Restonic line of mattresses, manufactured\u00a0in Grand Forks. They also carry\u00a0Therapedic International and Five Star Mattress lines. According to the store’s owners, Mike and Robert, they chose\u00a0the store’s\u00a0product\u00a0lines because the companies “put a strong emphasis on putting quality materials in their beds.”<\/p>\n

While the store’s emphasis is on mattresses, its owners plan\u00a0to add home d\u00e9cor and additional\u00a0furniture items\u00a0at a later date, in addition to a large selection of wall art.<\/p>\n

Natives of North and South Dakota, and graduates of University of Mary<\/a>, owners Mike and Robert embrace their local roots and aim to\u00a0“create a fun, fair, low pressure shopping environment.” Both individuals\u00a0have extensive experience in retail sales\u00a0and customer service.\u00a0In particular, Robert said that his background has prepared them to be successful:\u00a0“I knew I could take my years of helping people and transform that into what we have today,”<\/p>\n

What sets Fundamental Furniture apart from its competitors is not only the owners’ local roots, but the store’s emphasis on\u00a0offering high quality products at “honest fair prices.” The store offers ten mattress models priced under $1,000.<\/p>\n

“We don\u2019t have to put crazy markups on them and then falsely discount them down to make you think you\u2019re getting a good deal. \u00a0All the 50-60% off sales are just a tactic to get you through the door.\u00a0 We will have honest fair prices on all our merchandise all the time.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To help keep prices low, the store operates with lower than average gross margins. One method that it achieves this goal is by not\u00a0calculating delivery charges directly into its pricing. While affordable delivery is an option if needed, its owners emphasize that its customers won’t overpay for services they may not require.<\/p>\n

Fundamental Furniture is open\u00a0Monday through Friday,\u00a010:30am-7:00pm, Saturday 10:30am-5:00pm, and Sunday noon-5:00pm.<\/p>\n
