In fact, the product turns 50 years old this month. For those who might not know, Mr. Bubble was distributed by Bismarck-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismancafe.com\/blogs\/gold-seal-company\">Gold Seal Company<\/a> until its purchase by Airwick Industries in 1986.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1942 by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismancafe.com\/blogs\/harold-schafer\">Harold Schafer<\/a>, Gold Seal was one of the most successful privately owned businesses ever based in the state of North Dakota. Harold&#8217;s son, former North Dakota Governor and former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Ed Schafer, later operated the company from 1978-1985.<\/p>\n<p>Gold Seal first introduced Mr. Bubble in June 1961.\u00a0Today, Mr. Bubble is distributed by Chaska, MN-based The Village Co.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. Bubble has been a household name for multiple generations.
