The goal, albeit debated, is to improve traffic flow through downtown by reducing or eliminating bottlenecks from left turns and\u00a0parallel parking, particularly between 5th and 3rd Streets.<\/p>\n<p>The City Commission <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kfyrtv.com\/home\/headlines\/KFYR-Main-Avenue-Lanes-May-Be-Reduced-to-Help-Traffic-Flow-318732111.html\" target=\"_blank\">approved the reconfiguration last summer<\/a>, but delayed construction until post-winter .\u00a0The narrowed roadway will be tested for three months, according to a recent press release,\u00a0before determining whether\u00a0to make the change permanent.
