{"id":131325,"date":"2016-01-13T21:46:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-14T03:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bismarckcafe.com\/blogs\/?p=131325"},"modified":"2017-04-17T09:20:45","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T14:20:45","slug":"scottys-drive-in-under-new-ownership-extends-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bismarckcafe.com\/blogs\/131325\/scottys-drive-in-under-new-ownership-extends-hours","title":{"rendered":"Scotty&#8217;s Drive-in Under New Ownership; Extends Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Bismarck&#8217;s oldest restaurants is under new ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Local restaurant manager Kurt Dilger\u00a0closed on purchasing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarckcafe.com\/blogs\/wiki\/scottys-drive-in\">Scotty&#8217;s Drive-in<\/a> earlier this week from previous owners Dave and Nancy Turner, who owned the restaurant since their 2007 purchase from long-time owners, the\u00a0Roehrichs.<\/p>\n<p>With a promising\u00a0outlook for the restaurant, Scotty&#8217;s has\u00a0extended its hours to 11am-7pm Monday through Saturday. While still currently closed Sundays, its new owner won&#8217;t rule out expanding to all seven days if demand warrants. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Scottys-Drive-In-111723708865101\/\">Facebook Page<\/a>, largely abandoned since 2013, is also seeing recent activity.<\/p>\n<p>Dilger plans to improve the long-standing restaurant\u2019s curb appeal by restoring the canopy and sign back to the original look. He says that great guest experiences are a top priority, offering quality food with friendly service. Things best associated with Scotty\u2019s won\u2019t change, however, such as classic car nights and its iconic\u00a0menu items.<\/p>\n<p>Dilger added that the response on Facebook to the purchase and ongoing improvements has been phenomenal and that he\u2019s honored to have purchased such an icon as Scotty\u2019s.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2471\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarckcafe.com\/blogs\/131325\/scottys-drive-in-under-new-ownership-extends-hours\/scottys08232009-2\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2471\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2471\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2471\" src=\"http:\/\/d2w3ygkvuq5sxd.cloudfront.net\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/scottys08232009-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Scotty's Drive-in\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2471\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scotty&#8217;s Drive-in<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Opened in 1965, Scotty&#8217;s\u00a0is reportedly the third oldest restaurant still serving Bismarck. Famous for such items as the Rebel Burger and Tartar Burger, Scotty&#8217;s holds true to its drive-in roots with its retro theme and classic car nights.\u00a0Once part of\u00a0a regional chain, with locations in at least six states; the Bismarck location is now one of only\u00a0three known survivors (Scottsbluff, NE and Idaho Falls, ID being the others).\u00a0None of the remaining locations have\u00a0any\u00a0connection to each other.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Did you know?
