Papa’s Pumpkin Patch / Papa’s Polar Patch

Papa’s Pumpkin Patch is a local seasonal establishment that is popular among young children. The “Pumpkin Patch” features a large selection of pumpkins for sale that are scattered throughout the grounds. There is also various entertainment targeted for children, which includes a bale maze. The owners give a large portion of the profits to local charities. According to their website, there are an estimated 20,000 pumpkins available, and an estimated 50,000 visitors each season.

The Pumpkin Patch began in 1983, however did not open to the public until 1989. In 2007, Papa’s Polar Patch opened for the first time. The Polar Patch primarily focuses on winter related activities, including horse-driven sleigh rides, ice skating, and ice forts.

On April 29, 2009, fire destroyed the original building on Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, which housed many of the items for the popular attractions, including its decorations.

The 2010 Pumpkin Patch Season is expected to run from September 12 – October 23rd.
