Hi-Way Motel was a long-time lodging facility located at 6319 E Main Ave, just east of Bismarck city limits on Highway 10.
The motel opened in 1956. It still operated as a motel until at least 2001. Today, it is Hi-Way Studio Apartments.
Fargo Film
The motel is commonly mistaken as the one depicted in the film Fargo, but this is a misconception. While the film places the motel scene outside of Bismarck, the actual physical motel featured in the movie is the highly comparable Hitching Post Motel at 23855 Forest Boulevard North in Forest Lake, Minnesota.
