Bill Sorensen

Bill Sorensen is a politician, businessman, sports agent, and entertainer.

Sorensen was the youngest person ever elected to the City Commission, serving in that capacity for 24 years, and served 12 years as Bismarck’s mayor, from 1990-2002. He served two terms in the state House of Representatives and as President of the ND League of Cities.

He is also known for as co-host at the Medora Musical, a role he has served since 2013. He returned in 2017 after taking medical leave to treat aggressive throat cancer.

At one time, Sorensen managed boxing legend Virgil Hill and was co-owner of the Dakota Rattlers and Dakota Wizards.

Sorensen graduated from Bismarck High School in 1968. His early career was in education prior to founded Business Information Systems Inc. Over the years, he acquired nine different technology-centered businesses.
