McRock Cafe Dropping 50’s Rock N’ Roll Theme

McDonald’s Rock-N-Roll Cafe

Goodbye, classic cars.

The McDonald’s Rock N’ Roll Cafe, known by most locals as simply “McRock Cafe,” is undergoing a renovation to modernize its look. In the process, the golden arches located on the edge of downtown Bismarck is dropping its unique 1950’s rock n’ roll theme, which it’s had since the restaurant opened in 1992 under Mort Bank.

The site was formerly home to Auto Dine and an Exxon station, which later became a dry cleaners for awhile. Mort Bank, who’s more famously known for his Space Aliens franchise, opened the McDonald’s in 1992 – relocating from a location further west on Main Avenue.
