Brig. General Thomas L. Rosser

Brig. General Thomas L. Rosser (1836-1910) was a military officer who served for both the Confederate and United States Armies. Rosser was appointed head of the survey party for the Northern Pacific Railroad as it headed through Dakota Territory. General Custer was a former classmate of Rosser’s at the U.S. Military Academy, and a close friend.

Rosser Avenue was named for him.
