Bismarck Police continue their investigation into the report of an armed man that prompted the evacuation of a business and put several local schools into Shelter in Place mode.

At approximately 11:21am, police responded to the report of a man, armed with a gun, outside of the US Foodservice building at 3500 Saratoga Avenue. According to a press release, a witness told 911 that the man had confronted a woman with a gun outside the building. After the suspect instructed the witness to leave, the witness believed that the suspect had entered the building.

In response, a perimeter was established and a reverse 911 implemented while searching the area. US Foodservice employees were evacuated and the building was searched, but the suspect was not found.

The female victim acknowledged knowing the suspect, but his whereabouts are currently not known. Police are refraining from releasing the suspect’s name at this time while the investigation continues; however, describe him as “a 31 year old black male with a Bismarck address.”
