Simonson Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint; Arrest Made

Update (9:16pm): After numerous tips, police have arrested 18-year-old Michael Taylor of Bismarck in connection with this morning’s armed robbery and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. Taylor also had two other outstanding warrants.

Taylor was arrested at a convenience store at Century Avenue and Washington Street. He was taken into custody for his two other outstanding warrants. His connection to this morning’s crimes was determined after further investigation.

Formal charges are pending. The case remains under investigation.


The Simonson station off State Street and Interstate Avenue – across from Kmart – was robbed at gunpoint this morning. Police responded to the station just after 4am.

The suspect is described as male, 5′ 9″ tall, and weighing 150-170 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, green coat, and gray cowboy hat.
