Bismarck Public Schools Will Become K-5; 6-8; 9-12

Bismarck High School

The Bismarck School Board has approved a long-speculated plan to shift grades to better accommodate a rapidly growing student population.  Beginning next school year, sixth-grade students will transfer to the middle schools and ninth-grade students will shift to the high schools. Thus, elementary schools was house K-5, middle schools 6-8, and high schools 9-12. This is similar to how a vast majority of school districts across the country are formatted.

The Bismarck Public School district is already in the process of constructing two new elementary schools and one new high school.

Additionally, Bismarck Public School students will see an extra three days of class-time added to the next school year, with school beginning August 20, 2013.
